I built this for the woman who's done it all before.

Hi, I'm Shaina. I've been coaching women in strength and nutrition for nine years — based in Calgary, working with clients all over the world. This page explains why I do it the way I do.

Why I built this

I kept watching smart, motivated women fail at programs that were never built for them.

I started The Fit Collective because I kept watching the same thing happen to smart, motivated, hard-working women: they'd find a 12-week program. They'd grind through it. They'd see results. And then — because nothing about that program was actually built for the rest of their life — the second things got busy, sick, stressful, or social, the whole thing fell apart. And they'd blame themselves.

It's not a willpower problem. It's a programming problem. Generic plans built for nobody in particular don't survive contact with a real human life — and they especially don't survive contact with a woman who's also running a household, a career, a family, or all three.

How I work

The opposite of generic.

What I do at The Fit Collective is the opposite of generic. I build a strength and nutrition program around the actual woman in front of me — her schedule, her stress, her sleep, her relationship with food, her gym access, her injuries, her life. Then I'm there every week to adjust it as her life changes, because it always does.

I'm not interested in helping you lose 20 lbs in 90 days and then watch you put it back on by next Christmas. I'm interested in helping you build something — a body, a relationship with food, a way of training — that you can actually sustain for the rest of your life, not just the next three months.
